What is Saber e-platform?
It is an electronic platform that allows the importer/manufacturer to register certificates of conformity and certificates of consignment electronically for consumer products whether imported or locally manufactured to enter the Saudi market.
What are the products that should be registered in Saber?
All consumer products that follows the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality, which are sold in the Saudi market, whether imported or manufactured locally.
Should the trader register raw materials in Saber knowing that these materials will be used to manufacture the product locally?
Raw materials under the industrial exemption issued by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources which enter into the manufacturing process do not need to register at the platform at this time.
Who are the parties required to register on Saber?
All importers/manufacturers with Saudi commercial register as well as the local manufacturers.
Why do I need a certificate of conformity to Saudi specifications?
To ensure that the product complies with the relevant technical regulations and specifications, while maintaing the safety and health of the consumer and the environment.
Is there any other authority that provides the certificate of conformity to the Saudi specifications whether in the Kingdom or abroad?
Yes, there are conformity assessment authorities accepted by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and authorized to issue conformity certificates for products.
What is the conformity authority assessment and it’s role?
Authority that is accepted by the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality, which issues certificates of compliance after meeting the requirements and specifications of the relevant technical regulations, which ensures the safety of the product.
How can I know if the conformity assessment authority is accepted by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization?

Is it possible to issue a product certificate of conformity assessment from authorities outside the Kingdom?
Yes, as long as this authority is among accepted authorities by the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality.
Are all procedures of registration of certificates of conformity and consignment through Saber electronic platform?
Yes, all conformity certificates registration procedures are fully electronic through the Saber platform.
Should certificates of conformity be obtained for products produced nationally and sold within the Kingdom?
Yes, the importer/manufacturer must register certificates of conformity through Saber electronic platform for locally manufactured products that will be sold in the Saudi market.
Should certificates of conformity be obtained for products produced nationally and sold outside the Kingdom?
Products manufactured or produced in the Kingdom that will be exported abroad do not require issuing a conformity certificate and follow the laws and regulations of the exporting country.
What is the time frame required to get a certificate of conformity?
Time frame differ depending on the product, however; the certificate will be issued immediately upon completion of uploading required data by the conformity authority.
What information / documents are required to obtain the certificate of conformity?

What falls on the supplier or trader who does not get a certificate of conformity?
Not registering the consignment conformance certificate on the Saber electronic platform will prevent the products from entering the Saudi market and will be fined by the competent authorities.
Are there any fees to register in Saber?
No, there is no subscription fee to the Saber portal.
Are there any fees to issue a certificate of conformity?
Yes, the cost of registering conformity certificates through the platform is 500 SR per certificate except for the equivalent certificates issued by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) which are free.
